Porous Materials with Mold Needing Disposal
This facility had microbial growth after a water damage. When mold is present on materials we do not want to cross contaminate any other areas that are clean. We start by removing the moldy drywall, insulation, and ceiling tiles that are wet and show signs of mold. All the wet and fungus materials are then bagged within the mold contained area. Next the bags are bagged again outside the contained area. The new bags were not in the mold contaminated area and can therefore be taken through the building to the dumpsters outside. It is quite a process but it's the standard when cleaning up mold.
