How to Keep Mold From Growing Under Baseboards
After a water intrusion there are a few materials that we know have the potential of growing mold. The pictures show linoleum flooring and drywall with their baseboards removed. Out of the two materials it is the drywall that will grow mold as it has an organic paper backing. The linoleum will not because it is not organic.
Many restoration companies make the mistake of not removing the baseboards because it is more work. We remove them because they act as a barrier not allowing water that has wicked up the drywall to release. The drywall behind the baseboards will grow mold in as little as 48hrs of being wet.
